She divides the cake into 3 pieces that each add up to 15. The first piece contains 9, 0, 1, 2, and 3. The second piece contains 4, 5, and 6. And the last one contains 7, and 8.

She cut 1/3 out of a whole so each piece was 1/3

The pieces were cut on the 3,6 and 9. The cake was divided into thirds or each slice was 1/3.

The cake had to have the same sum of numbers on each piece. Since there were 3 pieces and a sum of 45 on the entire cake, each piece had to have a sum of 15. After guesstimating that 9 would have to go with some of the smaller numbers to make a sum of 15 on 1 of the 3 pieces I got the answer. 1 of the pieces had the numbers 9, 0, 1, 2, and 3. Another piece had the numbers 4, 5, and 6. The last piece had the numbers 7 and 8.

first I added all the numbers together it = 45. 45 divided by 3 is 15 so all the thirds should be the same so they will all need to be 15
